My new single, Crawl, is now alive on this site and all streaming platforms.

Written for a family member who has wrestled with substance abuse for over a decade, the song is about being there for someone who feels like giving up on themselves.

The first chords and words came after one of many relapses. As their cycle of self-destruction continued over the following years, the rest of the tune took shape.

Sometimes the two of us have the same shoulder-to-cry-on phone call we’d had three weeks prior; sometimes they're enjoying fulfillment and clarity during long seasons of sobriety; sometimes by the end of a roller coaster conversation, they swear off alcohol for good, only to then go radio-silent for a month as they crawl back into their poisoned hole.

This more-than-a-decade-long pattern of hope and defeat is exhausting, but, at this point, I feel like all I can do is hope…and offer love and guidance when they choose to reach out.

If a listener finds themselves offering support in a similar dynamic, I hope this song makes them feel like they aren't alone in their effort to heal the one they care about. If a listener is in need of comfort, I hope they can find some through this music.
